Supporting our SEND Pupils

Our SENDCo is Miss Jessica Tracey, who can be contacted through the main School Office.

At Orchard, we have always been proud of how we support children. We pride ourselves on our open manner with parents in working together to try and provide the right environment for each child.

The School has published its Policy (click PDF icon) and SEND Information Report for parents (see below) so that it is clear what we may be able to offer your child.  This should be read alongside the latest information from the Hampshire Local Offer.

PAT DOG ARLO

Arlo and owner Racheal visit OJS once a week to volunteer with the Read2dogs scheme.  They spend time with selected children listening to them read, walking around the school grounds or having a calming session with him.  Pets as Therapy is very beneficial for some children and we have seen some fantastic results over the past year that Arlo has been working with us at OJS.

The two-year-old Lab spends up to an hour at a time at one of three schools listening as four pupils spend 15 minutes each reading to him for a five-week period.
