LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

START DATE: OCTOBER 2022
8:30 am – 3.30 pm (32.5 hours per week) LSA

Orchard Junior School have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant. This is a
permanent vacancy.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, experienced and caring person to join
our friendly team of staff.
The role will mainly involve supporting groups of children in their learning under the
direction of the class teacher, as well as providing general classroom assistance and
pastoral support for the pupils. Someone to one pupil support may also form part
of the role.
You must:
• Have empathy with pupils and be sympathetic to their needs
• Have excellent literacy/numeracy skills
• Have well developed interpersonal skills and sense of humour enabling effective
relationships with a variety of different people
• Be a team worker
• Be able to use ICT effectively to support learning
• Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to clarify and explain
instructions clearly
• Be professionally discrete and able to respect confidentiality on particular issues

In terms of qualifications and experience, you will ideally:
• Have a working knowledge of the national curriculum, particularly literacy and
numeracy requirements, and other relevant learning programmes/strategies
• Be trained at least to NVQ3 standard in Childcare

• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a teaching/learning/child support
working environment

CLEANER

 

START DATE: OCTOBER 2022 3.15 – 5.15 pm (10 hours per week)

This is a permanent post to start in October 2022.

Orchard Junior School have a vacancy for an afternoon cleaner.

We currently have a vacancy for a cleaner to join our existing cleaning team.

We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and enthusiastic person who takes pride in their work and has high standards, so that our children have a clean and safe place to learn.

Experience of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is an advantage. Training will be provided.

The post is 10 hours per week (2 hours each day) (term time only).

Cleaning needs to take place at the end of the school day from 3.15 pm until 5.15 pm.

Duties will include cleaning an area of the school including emptying of bins, cleaning touchpoints, toilets, classroom tables etc.

The ideal applicant should be flexible and available to help at other times where possible.

The pay scale for the role is Grade A, step 1 - 3. Annual salary range = £4,238 - £4,280.

Orchard Junior School is looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to our popular, school.
We have 360 children aged between 7 and 11 years old organised into 12 classes.
We want someone who will be able to work as part of the team to make sure the children have a
safe enjoyable lunch time.
