Your PTFA needs your support!

The PTFA is an open community of parent/carer volunteers working alongside the school and staff to create long lasting memories for our children while raising funds for the school to directly and indirectly help to enrich the educational journey of the pupils at Orchard Junior School.

Each year, the PTFA work hard to put on fun events for the children of OJS such as
-
Discos (up to three a year)
-
Movie nights
-
Wrap Rooms at Christmas, Mother’s Date and Father’s Day
-
Summer Fayre in early July
-
Treat sales at the end of term
-
Year 6 Leavers hoodies
-
Personalised Christmas merchandise
as well as hosting an evening quiz night for parents/carers.

Please see Calendar and Term Dates | Orchard Junior for details of forthcoming events.

We are thrilled and very grateful for all the support we have received from lovely parents and carers, marvellous school staff and generous local community organisations over the years.

In 2023/24 school year, the PTFA managed to raise over £10,000 from these events – money that went back into supporting enhancements to the school.

We are very proud of the help we are able to offer to the school. In recent years we have contributed towards / purchased:
-
a replacement school mini-bus in 2024
-
new Oxford University Press books for the school library
-
new school sports kit and other sports equipment
-
addition resources for new Forest School provision in the school grounds to support SEN children
-
the renovation of Victoria’s Garden in the school playground to provide the best quieter alternative space for the children on the busy playground
-
new equipment to support the curriculum in the areas of DT, Arts, Geography, French, Music and Science
-

If you have any questions or think you’re able to spare some time to get involved in supporting the PTFA then please do not hesitate to contact us via email ojspfta@gmail.com or the school office. We would love to hear from you!

Being a volunteer doesn’t mean you need to turn up to everything or be on the committee - every extra pair of hands helps us! You could
-
help wrap gifts for the wrap rooms
-
volunteer to hand out drink at a disco
-
sell treats at the end of the school day for 30 mins
-
man a stall for an hour at the Summer Fayre!
-

We are also always looking for new fundraising ideas and opportunities - please get in touch if you have an idea to share with us!
Other ways day to day you can help the PTFA in their fundraising include:
Support Orchard Junior School when you play Your School Lottery - Your School Lottery
Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week. There is a guaranteed cash winner for someone at the school every week and the chance to win the £25,000 Jackpot.
For every ticket played, 70% goes back to the OJS school community
