Here at Orchard Junior School we believe that reading is an essential and lifelong skill. Our school library is available for all pupils to use throughout the day with classes also having dedicated time each week to browse the books with their class teacher.

All pupils are expected to read aloud to parents at least three times a week and record this in their reading journal therefore we have a wide range of genres for the children to choose from.

As well as our physical library in school all pupils have access to our online library. This can be easily accessed through the school website using your child’s Purple Mash login details.

All the Fun of the Book Fair!

The Scholastic Book fair will be coming in to school again in the Autumn. We will be posting more information soon.

We have created the school’s first Amazon wish list. Due to restrictions we have been unable to run any fundraising events this year and so we are turning to our community to help us out.

We’ve decided to use this system to list the books that have been requested by the children, relating to topics that the children will be learning about or to replace books that are looking a bit tired.

Simply click on your child’s year group link below and browse away! Feel free to choose and send books at any time and to leave a message but remember to select the school’s address for delivery at the checkout.
