Another week down and only a few more to go – come on Year 6, we’ve got this!

 

Mental maths books – Week 36 – work through your book daily.

Day 1: SPAG lesson – Subjunction mood. Please look at power point first. Then complete task. If you want a challenge or extra work, complete the challenge. Again, tasks get progressive more challenging. Answers after the task.

In Literacy, You are to have more freedom with your writing!

 

Day 2: From these images, write in the form of your choice – ideas are on the task sheet. Once you have completed your writing, show an adult to see how you have done.

LITERACY

Day 3:   Click the Literacy Shed icon and watch the video clip. Your task, using the ideas of the Day 3 task sheet, is to write in the form of your choice.  Once you have completed your writing, use the Y6 editing sheet to see how you have done.

Numeracy

This week we will be looking at London again and we will be looking at the London Underground system.

Overview:

Day 1: Complete the arithmetic sheet in the folder focusing on +- fractions SEE DAY 1 FOLDER FOR TASK + HONESTY CARD there is also a video to help!

 

Day 2: we are looking at the London Underground today.  It is a map that is like a big jigsaw.  It is the underground travel system that lets you get around London without getting stuck in traffic.  Follow the questions to see if you could get around London!

 

Day 3: More tube questions – these are trickier – remember to find the shortest route and to change at the interchanges.

 

CHALLENGE: TOWERS Investigate the different positions of numbers within a tower and how they affect each other! Honesty card to help

Here are some other tasks for you to do as and when you get the chance.

YOU CAN DO AS MANY OR AS FEW AS YOU LIKE!

Geography: Today, we are going to take a look at our capital city a bit more. Click the "London Logo" to look through a PowerPoint to give you some more information about London. After you have done this, click on Big Ben to find the other tasks, which includes a sorting activity (Task 2) which is behind the scissors.

Art: You will create and design a comic strip – this will take you 2-3 weeks

You will design and make a comic strip based around a short story where you have a character that travels through time and takes you to these places or meets the people of Britain/London. You can add all the facts but also with humour. The  PPP explains all that you need to know - click on the comics!

Music: Look through the Music slides and with this new information, think of a round that we sing at school?  Could you teach your sequence to someone else in your family, and then perform it together as a canon? Click on the music class for more information.
