Our biggest team of the year so far left Orchard on Wednesday lunchtime to do battle with the wind and the rain and compete in the Perry Dalziel Cross Country race at Walhampton School. We had a lot of nervous first-time Orchard representatives, from Year 3-6, but all managed to channel their nerves and battled so well in very difficult conditions. There was barely a blade of grass to be seen amongst the mud by the end of the afternoon but thankfully most children managed to stay on their feet!
Special mention goes to Colm who fought brilliantly for the silver in the Year 6 boys’ race and Joe ran superbly to take the victory in the Year 4 boys’ race.
Yet again, I couldn’t be prouder of the attitude shown by all the children – they are a pleasure to take to events!
