Christmas at Orchard Junior School is always a busy and exciting time.
This year, we've tried our best to maintain traditions as well as trying out different ideas.
Each Year Group has provided some work for parents to see, as obviously we haven't been able to invite you into school as we normally would.
Please forgive the quality of some of the recordings; sadly we are not BBC filming crews and it was impossible to always find a quiet moment!
Year 3 would traditionally perform a nativity as a key part of the Orchard Christmas.
This year, we have recorded some Christmas songs and performed 'Twas the Night Before Christmas for you.
Year 4 learn a different musical instrument as part of their "Listen To Me". Normally they would perform altogether in the hall to families. This year we have recorded each class, and their performances are below.

Year 5 celebrated Christingle last week by learning about what the orange, candle, sweets and red ribbon represents. Sadly, we were unable to go to St Andrew's for our traditional service, but that did not stop us !
Serena Carthy, the Children's Worker from the church, joined us via Zoom and talked to us about the significance of the Christingle.
Below are just a couple of photographs of what went on.
Year 6 have returned to learning about the Second World War.
As part of this they completed a dance, which you can view below.
6CB are the top two, 6CS are the middle row and 6SL is an all-in-one at the bottom.
